The City boasts The Bargate; one of the country’s finest and complex gateways.

Princes Street was built in the latter half of the 18th century during the reign of the Hanoverian King George III. Princes Street was named after King George’s sons and was soon to become Scotland’s greatest thoroughfare.

It is famous for its shops, public buildings and spectacular views of the town and castle. The oldest floral clock in the world is at Princes Street Gardens and was built in 1903.

It is 12 ft in diameter and is of the best loved attractions in the City. Quite a variety of flower and foliage plants are used in the design which are of a dwarf nature, suitable for carpet bedding.

Cropthorne Worcestershire is located three miles west of Evesham and is one of the many villages scattered throughout the Cotswolds. Famed for its beautiful scenery it was once a prosperous centre for the country’s wool trade and honey coloured stone used for famous buildings such as the Church of St John the Baptist and the great Oxford colleges.

The Tron Steeple is all that is left of the original St Mary’s Kirk church built in 1617. The ill fated church was accidently burnt down in 1793 by members of the notorious Hell Fire Club while under the influence of alcohol. The Tron Theatre stands only yards away from the rebuilt church.

The flat rural village of Waldingfield lies a few miles north east of Sudbury. Sudbury is the birthplace of the painter Thomas Gainsborough born in 1727. His half timbered house is now a museum exhibiting works which illustrates this great artist’s career.

The characterful half timbered cottages of Welford, accompanied by beautiful gardens sits alongside the River Avon. The riverside footpath provides a walk through picturesque willow-hung water meadows. Stratford, renowned as the birthplace of Shakespeare and a showcase of Tudor architecture is close by.

The Yorkshire Wolds a region of great scenic beauty is formed from chalk with gentle slopes leading up to a dramatic escarpment at the Vale of York

Though less mountainous than other parts of Wales much of the south of the country has its own unique beauty. Carmarthen Bay on which Pendine nestles, is no exception. Sandy coves and towering cliffs characterise the areas and visitors flock to the once quiet fishing village.

This charming little village lies a mile and a half south west of Youlgreave and is set amidst the beautiful rolling hills and limestone dales at the very heart of the White Peak.
